Wordle

Wordle is a browser-based puzzle game which has become a worldwide phenomenon.

It originally started life out as a game Josh Wardle created to play with his partner, before it quickly exploded into popularity after going public.

Players are given six attempts to guess a five letter word, with answers entered into tiles on a grid. Tiles flash up green, yellow or grey depending on whether the letter is in the answer, in the answer but in a different position or not in the answer at all.

Each day the answer refreshes, with players having to guess a brand new word.

Shortly after its release Wordle was acquired by The New York Times.
